Cerima Cherries automates 100% traceability with Datalogic

Cerima Cherries, a fruit company specializing in cherry production and export, faced a significant bottleneck as its daily output grew. Manually recording and labeling boxes for traceability became unsustainable, creating instability and limiting production speed even after initial software improvements. They turned to vendor Datalogic for an automated scanning solution to digitize this critical process.

Datalogic implemented DS5100 laser scanners installed on reading arches over conveyor belts to automatically capture label data from every box. This system, connected directly to Cerima's central server, guarantees 100% production control and reliable traceability. The solution automated pallet classification, sped up order preparation, eliminated errors, and provided real-time information, allowing Cerima to significantly increase the number of boxes processed on each line.
