Carlsberg boosts pallet scanning across 30,000 pallets with Datalogic

Carlsberg, an international brewing company, faced a challenge in its large Swedish distribution centre. Due to new EU food tracking standards, it needed a new warehouse system requiring a new label format. Their existing Datalogic scanners could not reliably read the new labels on pallets, causing operational problems and inefficiencies.

Datalogic provided a solution using its DS6400 and DS6300 industrial barcode readers from the 6000 family. The DS6400's oscillating mirror, installed on forklifts, could read a very wide area and multiple barcodes per pallet reliably. The result was a significant improvement in scanning accuracy and warehouse operations quality, eliminating previous problems with label placement and ensuring all necessary tracking data was captured.
