Belmonte Maintains Technological Edge with Multi-Purpose Bar Code Readers

Gruppo Belmonte S.p.A., an Italian specialty retail company best known for men’s shirts and expanding into women’s apparel, wanted to maintain a technological edge while improving management processes across its stores and warehouse. To support point-of-sale (POS) operations, inventory tracking, and shipment handling, Belmonte turned to Datalogic bar code reading technology, including QuickScan™ Mobile readers and portable terminals.

Datalogic implemented QuickScan™ Mobile linear imagers with STAR Cordless System™ for Belmonte’s retail stores, along with Datalogic Mobile portable terminals for warehouse use. The solution improved mobility, eliminated cable restraints, and delivered fast, accurate scanning even on small bar codes, helping cashiers avoid re-scans and optimizing inventory, price-checking, and shelf-replenishment tasks. While the case study does not cite specific numeric gains, Datalogic’s technology increased efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across Belmonte’s POS and warehouse operations.
