A Datalogic Case Study
The Belgian retail clothing chain Bel&Bo needed to replace outdated scanners to optimize in-store processes like stock management and returns. A key challenge was complying with new EU privacy legislation (GDPR), which required a modern method to obtain customer consent for using their purchase data. To address this, Bel&Bo turned to vendor Datalogic for a new scanning solution.
Datalogic supplied 200 Joya Touch multifunctional scanners. These intuitive devices, featuring the Bel&Bo logo, streamlined stock management and price checks. Critically, the scanners provided a user-friendly way for customers to grant GDPR consent via the touchscreen after their card was scanned at checkout. The retailer was very satisfied with the solution and is investigating further uses, with the IT employee convinced it can seriously increase efficiency in stock management.
