Astra Tech, a fast-growing Swedish medical technology company, faced a challenge due to stricter product tracking rules and its own expansion. The need to encode more data on product packaging led them to switch to 2D Datamatrix codes, but their manual sorting process after sterilization was inefficient. Datalogic was brought in to provide an automated scanning solution.

The solution implemented by Datalogic, through their partner, included Matrix-2000™ scanners and a C-Box 300 to read the new 2D codes on varied box sizes. These scanners successfully automated the sorting process post-sterilization, handling a depth of field variance up to 100mm. This Datalogic system replaced the manual, time-consuming method, resulting in a more effective and efficient sorting operation to support the company's strong international growth.
