Case Study: Yara International achieves centralised payments and global collections with DataLog Finance's CashPooler

A DataLog Finance Case Study

Preview of the Yara International Case Study

Implementing Payments and Collections Technology

Yara International faced the task of replacing an expensive, in-house payments and treasury system inherited from Norsk Hydro after its demerger. Needing a centrally managed payments and collections factory that could integrate with existing SAP processes and global banking networks, Yara reviewed five vendors and chose DataLog Finance’s CashPooler because it was a standalone payment factory that supported both payments and collections and could be extended to include a liquidity management tool.

DataLog Finance implemented CashPooler integrated with Yara’s SAP BCA in-house-banking setup (with Accenture providing project management), going live on October 1, 2008. Within the first year the solution reduced the need for system fixes, earned positive user feedback, and enabled subsidiaries in more than 50 countries to access payments and statements via a web interface; CashPooler now handles intercompany, cross-border and domestic payments across Europe, the US and Canada, with plans to expand into Africa, Asia and Latin America.
