How DAZN Scaled a Small Data Team with the Power of Machine Learning

DAZN, the subscription sports streaming service owned by Perform Group (serving Austria, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, and Canada), needed a fast, low‑maintenance way to scale predictive analytics so a small, largely non‑technical data team could run machine learning projects for customer segmentation, content attribution, churn prediction, and more. To meet this challenge they adopted Dataiku — specifically Dataiku Data Science Studio (DSS) — together with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to enable point‑and‑click ML for non‑technical analysts.

Using Dataiku DSS on AWS, DAZN was up and running in under an hour and now builds and manages more than 30 models in parallel without coding. Dataiku helped make each data team member 2.5× more efficient at putting models into production (two new analysts already match the output of five pre‑Dataiku analysts), enabling rapid deployment of attribution, segmentation, propensity/churn, survival analysis and NLP models and delivering measurable ROI across the business.
