How BlaBlaCar Uses Dataiku for BI Self Service Analytics

BlaBlaCar, the global online carpooling platform with over 10 million members, faced a BI bottleneck: their analytics teams depended on IT/technicians to run repetitive queries, causing days-long delays. To build in-house customer intelligence and lifetime value optimization capabilities, BlaBlaCar turned to Dataiku and its Data Science Studio (DSS) to clean, consolidate, and centralize heterogeneous data for on-demand BI access.

Using Dataiku’s Data Science Studio, one developer and one BI data manager created automated data streams that pull from SQL and external sources, cleanse and aggregate the data, and store it in a Vertica warehouse with Tableau for visualization. The solution eliminated days-long waits by enabling on-demand reports, dramatically increased BI productivity, reduced delivery times, and translated into optimized conversion rates and improved customer retention.
