Akamai, a global leader in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and content delivery services, faced challenges with siloed, outdated data documentation and fragmented information that made data discovery slow and unreliable. To improve stewardship and access to enterprise data, Akamai chose Dataiku and built an internal AI360 platform, including an LLM-powered chatbot and automated documentation tools.

Using Dataiku, Akamai implemented a Data Stewardship Agent to generate dataset descriptions and a Data Discovery Chatbot to answer natural-language questions and link users to relevant tables and reports. The solution saved over 6,000 hours company-wide, reduced manual documentation work for 6,000 datasets by more than 1,500 hours, and delivered $150,000 in savings from faster data discovery plus $37,500 in savings from automating dataset descriptions.
