Case Study: GoFundMe achieves automated DSR processing and proactive privacy governance with DataGrail

A DataGrail Case Study

Preview of the GoFundMe Case Study

GoFundMe - Customer Case Study

GoFundMe, a fundraising platform with a privacy-forward culture, faced a scalability challenge: its privacy team was spending the majority of its time manually handling more than 200 data subject requests (DSRs) per month. Deputy GC of AI, Privacy, and Product prioritized making the DSR process efficient so the team could focus on proactive work like procurement updates, internal training, and preparing for AI and regulatory changes. To address this, GoFundMe turned to DataGrail.

DataGrail implemented end-to-end DSR automation and connected 30+ integrations across on‑premise and cloud tools, while its Live Data Map gave instant visibility into 500+ systems and enabled RoPA generation. As a result, requests are completed faster, the privacy team reclaimed time for cross-functional programs (including AI governance), and GoFundMe standardized privacy after acquiring Classy. DataGrail’s solution helped the company scale privacy operations and contributed to GoFundMe’s recognition as The Visionary in the 2024 Data Privacy Hero Awards.
