A Dataedo Case Study
Vanderbilt University, a private research institution in Nashville, needed a better way to manage its growing data governance needs. Its teams struggled with inconsistent business term definitions, decentralized data inventory, and limited documentation of systems and calculations, and earlier tools had not been adopted broadly enough across the organization.
Dataedo helped Vanderbilt University centralize its data catalog, standardize documentation for business and technical terms, and add data lineage and profiling to support data quality, auditability, and data literacy. Vanderbilt validated the fit through a 3-month proof of concept, then rolled Dataedo out with a workflow shared between the data governance team and data stewards, enabling faster understanding of complex datasets and a stronger foundation for governance; the case study does not provide specific numeric impact.
