KaBuM! cuts infrastructure costs and saves hours a day with DataDome

KaBuM! is one of Brazil’s leading e‑commerce retailers for computer hardware, gaming gear and electronics. The company was hit by high volumes of malicious bot traffic that inflated site traffic and infrastructure costs and forced engineers to spend 2–3 hours a day analyzing logs and tuning WAF rules. After evaluating options, KaBuM! chose DataDome’s bot protection to address the problem.

DataDome was deployed non‑intrusively (via a Lambda@Edge function and a JavaScript tag) and provided real‑time detection, automated blocking and a clear dashboard. The solution eliminated most unwanted bot requests (which had been using up to a third of infrastructure), reduced cloud spending, saved KaBuM! up to 2–3 work hours per day, and—according to KaBuM!—paid for itself while likely improving conversion rates during peak events like Black Friday.
