Carsales, Australia’s largest online automotive, motorcycle and marine classifieds business, faced continual attacks from web‑scraping bots and needed better bot management after moving much of its infrastructure to AWS. After testing three vendors in parallel, Carsales selected DataDome for its superior scraper‑bot detection and bot‑management capabilities to protect the company’s listings and data.
DataDome’s bot‑protection solution was deployed and outperformed Carsales’ existing provider by blocking all the malicious requests the prior system caught plus additional bad requests that had previously slipped through. The service now runs in “autopilot” mode with minimal intervention, offers simpler false‑positive handling, and provides an easy‑to‑use dashboard used for traffic analytics and reporting, giving Carsales stronger, low‑maintenance protection against scrapers.
