A DataDome Case Study
Brainly, the world’s largest online learning platform serving over 200 million monthly users, was overwhelmed by spam, large-scale scraping, credential-stuffing and other bot-driven attacks that threatened user safety and content ownership. CTO Bill Salak found manual moderation and in-house tooling unable to keep up, and turned to DataDome for adaptive bot detection and protection.
DataDome’s bot protection was deployed quickly (as a Cloudflare app) and now runs largely on autopilot, blocking millions of malicious requests per day. The result: Brainly says bot management time fell by more than 90%—from several staff spending half their time on bot issues to roughly two man-hours per week company-wide—while scraping and credential-stuffing attacks were stopped, user PII and paid accounts were better protected, and overall security and productivity improved.
