BlaBlaCar prevents Account Takeovers with DataDome

BlaBlaCar, the 40‑million‑member carpooling community, was targeted by impersonator bots carrying out credential‑stuffing and brute‑force account takeover attacks to harvest personal data and payment information. After observing spikes in bot activity and risky automated attempts on login forms, BlaBlaCar selected DataDome to protect its web and mobile platforms.

DataDome installed its traffic‑validation module, leveraging machine learning and a global data pool to automatically detect and block known and emerging bots while keeping latency to only a few milliseconds and avoiding a single point of failure. Since activation, DataDome has protected BlaBlaCar user accounts with no daily maintenance required, provided full visibility into bot traffic via the DataDome Dashboard and daily reports, and automated the blocking of impersonator activity.
