Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) needed a consistent way to monitor its cloud environment as it scaled: with about 1,600 applications (300 in the cloud) and 100+ teams, the lack of a unified monitoring tool created long investigation times, reliability risks, and threatened its 99.9% uptime targets even after building the internal Chofer platform on AWS.

TMNA ingested AWS data into Datadog to centralize metrics, logs, and traces across EC2, RDS, EKS and more, using Datadog’s integrations and dashboards to standardize observability. The results: $10M saved over two years, onboarding cut from 8–12 weeks to 3–4 days (≈20x faster), mean time to detection down ~96% (from ~6 hours to 15 minutes), MTTR reductions (e.g., 7 days to 2 hours in one plant), and teams shipping projects in weeks instead of quarters.
