SimpleReach is a data platform that measures and optimizes content distribution for publishers and brands, processing over 8 billion content interactions daily. As its AWS-based infrastructure scaled from dozens to hundreds of servers, developers and operators lost visibility into how frequent code and infrastructure changes affected production; existing open-source tools were too rigid, and teams spent increasing time manually tracking and comparing performance metrics.
SimpleReach adopted Datadog Infrastructure Monitoring—installed in about 15 minutes—which provided unified, correlated views of events and metrics, flexible dashboards, alerts, and an API for capturing custom deployment data. The platform made it easy to identify problematic individual instances (around 250–300 AWS hosts), cut root-cause investigation from hours or days to minutes, and measurably improved developer and operator productivity, resource utilization, and responsiveness to traffic spikes.
