Case Study: Fintonic achieves unified observability, faster onboarding, and quicker issue resolution with Datadog

A Datadog Case Study

How monitoring helped facilitate Fintonic’s expansion into South America and adoption of Kubernetes

Fintonic, a fast-growing personal finance and mobile banking company from Spain with over 700,000 users, faced scaling pains as it expanded into Chile and Mexico. Rapid growth and a move to a microservices architecture on Kubernetes (about 60 services) made onboarding difficult and troubleshooting slow: engineers had to learn a specialized log query language, manually correlate data across multiple monitoring tools, and lacked tag-based alerting and prioritization.

Fintonic adopted Datadog to unify metrics, logs, events, and Kubernetes metadata, using tags and customizable dashboards for six business teams. The result: engineers can onboard in days, alerts are created and routed faster (four times faster alert creation), mean time to recovery fell thanks to one-click log access from metrics, and Fintonic successfully completed its Kubernetes migration and regional expansion.
