A Datadog Case Study
PedidosYa, part of the Delivery Hero group and a market leader for online food ordering in Latin America, faced a surge of fraud after launching free food vouchers: users created multiple accounts from different IPs to claim extra vouchers. Their previous workflow—manually creating firewall rules for each domain—was slow, hard to maintain, and produced a month-long detection delay that let attackers succeed.
PedidosYa deployed Datadog Security Monitoring, using customizable out-of-the-box detection rules, extensive tagging, and IP-focused dashboards to automate and scale detection across all domains and correlate security with application and infrastructure data. In about a month they built effective rules, detected 37,000 unique fraudulent users in real time, reduced mean time to detection, blocked abusive IPs at the edge, and unified monitoring and security workflows.
