Case Study: Complyt achieves 40% cloud cost reduction and slashes transaction time to 150 ms with Datadog

A Datadog Case Study

Preview of the Complyt Case Study

Complyt leans on Datadog to boost security, reduce costs, and improve observability as it scales

Complyt is a Tel Aviv–based finance startup that provides a sales tax automation platform to help businesses monitor, calculate, and remit sales tax. As it expanded from ~1.5M to a projected 5M monthly transactions and shifted from a monolith to microservices, the company needed high availability and strong observability to prevent revenue loss and customer churn, while also addressing growing application attack attempts and a rising cloud footprint.

Complyt adopted Datadog’s integrated suite (APM, Log Management, ASM, Infrastructure Monitoring, Cloud Cost Management) to correlate traces and logs, surface exposed services, and visualize cost and performance. APM revealed an external-service bottleneck, so Complyt built an internal service that cut processing from ~700–800 ms to 150 ms and helped meet the SLO (50 requests in 350 ms), ASM exposed attack paths that were closed by reconfiguring AWS subnets, and CCM enabled rightsizing that reduced cloud spend by 40% in an hour.
