Axis Communications, a Lund, Sweden–based leader in video surveillance, runs mission-critical camera systems and launched Axis Cloud Connect, a hybrid cloud platform for partners. As the platform expanded, observability was fragmented across teams and multiple cloud accounts, creating security risks, slow troubleshooting across many microservices, and time-consuming tool maintenance.

Axis consolidated monitoring on Datadog—instrumenting with the Datadog Agent, aggregating telemetry across cloud providers, and using Serverless Monitoring, logs, traces, notebooks linked to OpsGenie, and built-in incident management. The unified platform kept costs stable while providing a single source of truth, cutting mean time to repair from hours to about five minutes, enabling proactive monitoring, faster deployments, and broader cross-team collaboration.
