Australian Community Media transforms operations with centralized monitoring and log management

Australian Community Media (ACM), a Sydney-based publisher of more than 160 regional and agricultural mastheads, lost access to its monitoring tools after a corporate split, leaving its IT team with limited visibility into the systems that support advertising workflows and revenue. The gap made troubleshooting slow and largely reactive across a mix of legacy on‑prem and cloud workloads.

ACM deployed Datadog for infrastructure and centralized log management—ingesting logs (including from S3), using intuitive dashboards, anomaly detection, and Slack alerts—to create a single source of truth. The change delivered substantial time savings, simplified troubleshooting, and a shift from reactive firefighting to proactive problem prevention, while enabling further plans for AWS optimization.
