Case Study: ECCO Select achieves FedRAMP‑authorized end-to-end observability and eliminates 700+ service tickets with Datadog

A Datadog Case Study

Preview of the ECCO Case Study

ECCO Select uses Datadog to enhance USDA's digital capabilities and meet FedRAMP® requirements

USDA’s Digital Infrastructure Services Center (DISC), a federated data center supporting 14 federal departments, faced rising complexity from a modernized hybrid‑cloud environment and a 2021 Executive Order that required FedRAMP‑authorized solutions. Working with MSP ECCO Select, DISC found its legacy monitoring tools lacked the visibility and compliance needed to reliably monitor infrastructure, troubleshoot incidents, and support tenant teams.

ECCO Select implemented Datadog’s FedRAMP‑authorized observability platform, automating agent deployment to 4,800 hosts and achieving coverage of over 95% of infrastructure within 75 days, including roughly 4,000 containers and migration of 1,100 monitor templates. The deployment consolidated monitoring, sped root‑cause analysis—resolving a persistent memory issue that generated 700+ service tickets—and delivered improved security, operational efficiency, and self‑service visibility for DISC’s customers.
