Global Energy Group Completes Centera-to-Centera Migration on Time and on Budget

Global Group of Energy and Petrochemicals Company, a global oil and gas enterprise with more than 90,000 employees in over 70 countries, needed to refresh an aging Dell EMC Centera that was nearing end of maintenance life. The critical system held the company’s SAP application data, including over 121 million objects and 12 TB of data, so the migration had to be completed without disrupting business operations. Datadobi was brought in to help with the Centera-to-Centera transition using its DobiMigrate platform.

Datadobi implemented DobiMigrate to assess, analyze, and migrate the full 12 TB of SAP data to the new Centera with automation and embedded intelligence. Despite a network issue during the project, Datadobi worked closely with the customer to avoid impact, and the migration was completed quickly, accurately, and within the estimated timeframe. The result was a transparent, nonintrusive migration with no disruption to business and strong control and visibility throughout the process.
