UMMS, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, needed to migrate to a new high-performance NAS storage solution but faced a highly complex move with hundreds of millions of files, tight outage windows across many departments, and a requirement for full data validation. Datadobi’s DobiMigrate NAS migration tool was selected to help meet these challenges quickly and reliably.

Datadobi implemented DobiMigrate to handle 1,200 migration paths, complete the move with an eight-hour cutover window, and verify metadata and content with an audit trail. The migration covered 839 TB and 240 million files, consolidated 14 storage controllers to 4, and finished with less than six hours of scan time, delivering the project on time and on budget while greatly reducing effort and maximizing ROI.
