NCSA unifies 9 compute environments with DataDirect Networks

The National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) faced a challenge with its nine distinct compute environments, where researchers had to manually transfer data between systems. This process was time-consuming and inefficient. To unify its computing environments under a single data platform, NCSA turned to DataDirect Networks (DDN) for a solution.

DataDirect Networks implemented its EXAScaler platform to create Taiga, a global parallel file system. The solution streamlined data access and management, offering researchers a centralized, high-performance namespace. It provided easy scalability to accommodate growing demands and included automated data backup, allowing users to focus on their research rather than data management.
