A DataDirect Networks Case Study
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), the Government of India's premier R&D organization, was tasked with building India's largest AI and HPC supercomputer cluster to serve as a national cloud computing infrastructure. The challenge was to create a system powerful enough to be shared across academia, R&D institutes, and startups with minimal latency, while also efficiently storing and processing the country's massive datasets from sectors like healthcare and agriculture. To meet this need, they partnered with vendor DataDirect Networks.
DataDirect Networks implemented a solution featuring the NVIDIA DGX SuperPod with a DDN A³I data platform, known as PARAM Siddhi. This included 10.5PB of DDN A³I storage with EXAScaler software, delivering 250 GB/s read performance. The results provided industry-leading latency reduction for 377 users from over 25 institutions and created a fast, efficient data infrastructure for critical datasets. DDN's simple building block architecture also ensured the solution was seamlessly scalable for future requirements.
