Safeguarding Ten Petabytes of Storage and Accelerating Microsoft Hyper-V at Kaspersky Lab

Kaspersky Lab, the world’s largest privately-held Internet security and anti-virus company, needed to virtualize and protect a planned 10 petabyte storage build-out across two Moscow data centers while unifying management of heterogeneous IBM, HP and NetApp arrays and improving performance for a large Microsoft Hyper-V environment. To meet those requirements it selected DataCore and its SANsymphony‑V storage hypervisor to add flexibility, business continuity and simplified storage administration.

DataCore deployed SANsymphony‑V at both sites to virtualize diverse storage, synchronously mirror production data, provide transparent auto‑failover and auto‑tiering, and deliver high‑performance shared storage for Hyper‑V VMs. As a result, Kaspersky Lab consolidated management across systems, accelerated Hyper‑V response times, enabled fast remote disaster recovery, and is virtualizing nearly 10 petabytes while reducing vendor lock‑in and lowering storage management costs.
