Mount Sinai Health System - Customer Case Study

Mount Sinai Health System, an integrated network of seven hospital campuses and extensive ambulatory services, faced escalating storage demands and mission‑critical availability requirements for clinical imaging and medical records. To eliminate downtime and ensure multi‑site data protection and failover, Mount Sinai turned to DataCore and deployed DataCore storage virtualization software (SANsymphony™) to virtualize and synchronize imaging and application storage across multiple sites.

DataCore implemented metro‑clustered, synchronous mirroring of PACS and other clinical systems across hospital sites and a central data center, using Fibre Channel over dark fiber at ~200 MB/s and DataCore CDP for rapid rollback. The deployment virtualizes over 2+ petabytes for 14,000 users across 120+ servers, enables automatic hot‑site failover with seamless application‑level continuity, and has delivered measurable results—no downtime since implementation and simplified maintenance and disaster recovery—demonstrating DataCore’s ability to provide high availability and hardware‑agnostic flexibility.
