McNamee, Lochner, Titus and Williams - Customer Case Study

McNamee, Lochner, Titus & Williams, a long-established Albany law firm, faced rapidly growing storage demands and aging, out-of-warranty SAN hardware. Seeking redundancy, easy expansion and hardware independence, the firm — with partner P&J Computers — chose DataCore SANmelody alongside Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V to avoid vendor lock-in and modernize their infrastructure.

P&J deployed DataCore SANmelody as a virtual SAN with a clustered Hyper-V system, enabling live migration between two hosts and redundant, multi‑terabyte storage that now supports 130 users and four VMs that can move seamlessly between nodes. The DataCore solution minimized downtime, delivered built-in redundancy, allowed low-cost upgrades (e.g., adding 10 Gb NICs), and preserved investment through DataCore’s Carry Forward Value Protection program.
