LG - Customer Case Study

LG Electronics, Inc., a global electronics leader, needed to maximize and pool existing HP and EMC storage for its production IBM AIX environment while ensuring multi-path high availability and avoiding any management overhead that would degrade performance. To meet these requirements they engaged DataCore and deployed DataCore SANsymphony as the virtualization and management layer.

DataCore implemented a fault‑tolerant SANsymphony configuration (two storage domain server nodes, Brocade switches, and pooled HP/EMC arrays) with features like I/O caching, Snapshot and Network‑Wide Mirroring to create a scalable, fully redundant virtual storage pool. The result was 24x7 availability for critical AIX applications, elimination of single‑vendor failure downtime and maintenance outages, and materially faster application performance thanks to DataCore’s caching and virtualization.
