ISCO Industries Utilizes DataCore to Take Its VDI and Virtualization Infrastructure to the Next Level

ISCO Industries, a worldwide polyethylene pipe manufacturer and distributor, was struggling with persistent SAN performance and capacity-management problems after hitting limits with its Compellent storage while virtualizing servers and desktops. High latency, slow backups and report generation, and frequent capacity overruns were hurting productivity, so ISCO engaged DataCore and deployed SANsymphony‑V (in tandem with Xiotech storage) to modernize its VDI, servers and storage infrastructure.

DataCore’s SANsymphony‑V provided software-based storage virtualization, thin provisioning, caching and migration onto Xiotech hardware, which cut reported used capacity from about 9–10 TB to 6 TB, eliminated latency spikes, and delivered more than a 35% increase in responsiveness for terminal and mail servers. The DataCore solution enabled near‑full virtualization (VDI and 32 VMs), saved ISCO at least $100,000 by repurposing servers for DR and VDI, improved server performance by 10–20%, and reduced recovery time for critical systems from 16–24 hours to minutes.
