Evans Fruit Company - Customer Case Study

Evans Fruit Company, the largest grower of Red Delicious apples in Washington, faced time-consuming direct-attached storage updates and labor-intensive physical server management. To virtualize both storage and servers they adopted a Citrix/DataCore solution—deploying DataCore SANsymphony‑V for storage virtualization alongside Citrix XenServer for server virtualization—to simplify provisioning and improve availability.

DataCore implemented two SANsymphony‑V virtual SANs (with synchronous mirroring and thin provisioning) integrated with the Citrix XenServer hosts, allowing Evans Fruit Company to migrate from DAS to a highly available virtual infrastructure. The result: the customer rated DataCore “5/5” for uptime, cost reduction, routine-task time savings and performance; the environment now runs 16 virtual servers across three Xen hosts for ~50 users, delivers easier server provisioning, stronger redundancy, and lower hardware acquisition costs.
