A DataCore Software Case Study
Englewood Hospital & Medical Center faced rapidly growing data volumes (projected 10x in four years), frequent disruptive storage migrations, and virtualization-driven performance bottlenecks that strained IT budgets and operations. To avoid costly hardware refreshes, the hospital turned to DataCore and deployed its SANsymphony‑V software-defined storage platform to virtualize and centralize storage management.
DataCore implemented an Active‑Active SANsymphony‑V environment that virtualized VMs and core systems (Exchange, AD, Oracle PeopleSoft, SQL, PACS/VNA), enabling non‑disruptive SAN upgrades and thin provisioning to reclaim capacity. The result was faster application performance (Exchange noticeably quicker), payroll run times cut in half, backups reduced from eight to three hours, extended life of existing SAN investments, and lower costs — outcomes delivered through DataCore’s software-defined approach.
