Enabling Swift and Seamless Transition from On-Premises to Private Cloud for DATEV.it

DATEV.it, the Italian software subsidiary of DATEV eG that markets solutions under the DATEV KOINOS brand, needed to move its offerings from on‑premises installations to a private‑cloud model while managing terabytes-to-petabytes of unstructured data (PDFs, telematics, electronic invoices) with strong security, scalability and simpler operations. To meet this challenge, DATEV.it chose DataCore and its Swarm software‑defined object storage to replace legacy file/database storage and enable a cloud-ready architecture.

DataCore implemented Swarm across DATEV.it’s two data centers, delivering S3‑compatible object storage with encryption, distributed workload support and automated data services; this cut operational complexity, lowered TCO and kept data instantly accessible and protected. As a result, DATEV.it migrated critical platforms (notably the electronic invoicing system that handles millions of documents per year) from test to production in a few weeks, gained horizontal and vertical scalability, simplified maintenance, and retained the option to extend to public cloud services thanks to DataCore.
