A DataCore Software Case Study
Disability Rights Texas, a statewide legal and protection advocacy agency, needed greater agility, reliable disaster recovery and lower IT costs while supporting mission‑critical applications for more than 110 users. To replace aging physical servers and a standalone iSCSI repository, the organization turned to DataCore’s software‑defined storage—including SANsymphony and DataCore Virtual SAN—paired with Microsoft Hyper‑V to virtualize server and storage infrastructure.
DataCore implemented two synchronously mirrored SANsymphony nodes in Austin and an asynchronously replicated Virtual SAN node in El Paso, integrated with Hyper‑V to virtualize ten servers and simplify DR failover. The deployment improved performance and recovery times, enabled thin provisioning to use roughly one‑third less physical space, reduced maintained physical devices from eight–nine to four, and delivered estimated annual savings of $7,000–$8,000—demonstrating measurable cost containment and increased operational flexibility.
