Case Study: OSI Foods achieves 90% downtime reduction and high-availability VMware storage with DataCore Software SANsymphony

A DataCore Software Case Study

Preview of the OSI Foods Case Study

DataCore’s software-defined platform nourishes OSI Food’s European data centres

OSI Food Solutions, a global supplier to major food retailers, faced performance and availability problems as it rolled out a Europe-wide ERP (Microsoft Dynamics NAV) and consolidated servers under VMware. To provide resilient, high‑performance shared storage and support just‑in‑time logistics across multiple subsidiaries, OSI deployed DataCore’s SANsymphony software-defined storage platform.

DataCore implemented a mirrored SANsymphony infrastructure integrated with VMware vSphere, providing synchronous mirroring, auto-failover, auto-tiering and central management across European sites. The deployment eliminated storage-related downtime (downtimes cut by 90%), consolidated storage across hardware generations (24 TB SAS per data center/node), supports ~95 VMs on four ESX hosts in Günzburg, and delivered cost savings, easier upgrades and predictable performance across OSI’s European environment. DataCore continues to be the company standard for storage virtualization.
