DataCore Virtual SAN Delivers Business Continuity and a Hyper-Converged Data Centre solution for LERG S.A

LERG S.A., a leading Polish resin manufacturer, faced growing capacity, performance and availability problems as their single HP storage array neared full utilization and business-critical VMware and Oracle/IFS systems required better recovery (RTO/RPO) and uptime. To modernize and support a second datacentre for business continuity, LERG evaluated solutions and adopted DataCore Software’s DataCore Virtual SAN hyper-converged approach (proposed and implemented with partner Komtech Infrastruktura) to deliver synchronous mirroring, higher performance and SSD integration across a stretched cluster.

DataCore Software’s Virtual SAN replaced the legacy array and multiple servers with two HP ProLiant nodes (one per site) running VMware ESXi and DataCore, using internal HDDs and SSD caching with 10 GbE connectivity. The deployment enabled active‑active synchronous replication, automatic failover/failback, auto-tiering and simplified single-console management. LERG saw immediate benefits: hardware reduced from five systems to two, storage-related spending cut by ~50%, overall I/O performance improved more than 5x, non-disruptive maintenance and greater capacity headroom and energy savings.
