NEP, a global live- and broadcast-production provider serving more than 650,000 user accounts, needed to rethink its CDN and backend object storage to support diverse consumption methods, massive capacity growth, mixed hardware environments and high-throughput streaming. To meet those requirements NEP selected DataCore’s Swarm object storage software for its hardware-agnostic architecture and flexible licensing.

DataCore implemented a large Swarm cluster spanning 200+ nodes from multiple vendors, delivering multi-petabyte capacity, parallel I/O throughput for direct streaming, S3/API/NFS/SMB access, erasure-coding data protection and automated load balancing. The DataCore Swarm deployment gave NEP the scalability and reliability to serve hundreds of thousands of users, reduced administration effort (no full-time storage admin), eliminated traditional RAID risks, and lowered total cost of ownership.
