A DataCore Software Case Study
Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale, a large multi‑site church, was struggling with rapidly expanding storage and server needs and had been coping by continually adding servers and disks. After 18 months of evaluation the IT team turned to DataCore storage virtualization—initially deploying SANmelody and later upgrading to SANsymphony—alongside VMware to gain flexibility, higher data protection, and a way to consolidate and manage growing storage demands.
DataCore, working with implementation partner Fairway Consulting Group, virtualized the church’s SAN to automate disk allocation, avoid over‑buying hardware, and provide deeper visibility and high availability across IP and Fibre Channel networks. The deployment (SANmelody in 2006, upgraded to SANsymphony in Q1 2007) delivered faster provisioning, lower costs, measurable time and money savings, and improved ability to match physical storage purchases to actual growth.
