A DataCore Software Case Study
ASRC for NASA Stennis Space Center needed a high‑availability, high‑performance storage platform to support its growing data center and the critical rocket propulsion tests hosted at Stennis. Because each test can cost upwards of $1,000,000 and requires systems to be available 72 hours before, during and after the test, ASRC turned to DataCore and its SANsymphony‑V software‑defined storage to eliminate storage glitches, reduce downtime and improve performance and capacity utilization.
DataCore implemented SANsymphony‑V with server/storage virtualization, caching/performance acceleration and SSD auto‑tiering, plus synchronous mirroring for continuous availability. The result: NASA Stennis now virtualizes over 265 TB across 180+ VMs for 2,700 users, reports major performance and utilization gains, simplified management, hardware independence, cost savings and high availability — ASRC rated DataCore “5/Excellent” for delivering Software‑Defined Storage.
