AIR MARIN - Customer Case Study

AIR MARIN, a 100% subsidiary of Thomas Cook AG and a leading German low‑budget tour operator, faced rapidly growing storage needs driven by image, catalogue and back‑office data and sought centralized, scalable SAN functionality (snapshot, mirroring, QoS) to reduce operational and administrative costs. To address this challenge AIR MARIN engaged DataCore and its SANsymphony network‑managed storage platform (deployed with partner Systemhaus Schelle AG).

DataCore implemented SANsymphony Network Edition with Network Managed Volumes, snapshot and mirroring; Storage Domain Servers provide SAN‑based booting and automatic "just‑in‑time" allocation, centralizing backup and optimizing resource use. The solution secures about 400–500 GB of data daily, raised availability and performance, significantly reduced administration and operating costs through automation, and lets AIR MARIN scale storage independently of server or array hardware — delivering immediate ROI and greater operational flexibility.
