A DataCamp Case Study
AI Singapore, a national initiative launched by Singapore’s National Research Foundation to build deep AI capabilities, faced the challenge of rapidly upskilling current and future workforces in data science and AI across industry and education. To scale training efficiently, AI Singapore partnered with DataCamp, using DataCamp’s online courses—most notably the Data Scientist with Python track—alongside workshops and apprenticeship curricula to deliver bite-sized, practice-focused learning for working professionals, students, and apprentices.
DataCamp delivered a three-pronged solution: a nine‑month paid AI Apprenticeship Program combining classroom, project work and DataCamp coursework; the AI for Industry pathway centered on the 100‑hour Data Scientist with Python track plus a three‑hour AI for Everyone workshop (over 1,000 professionals completed DataCamp training since 2018); and AI for Students, which reached 12,000 students through October 2019 with a commitment to support 100,000 students and enable 25,000 professionals. The apprenticeship has produced nearly 100 AI engineers by end of 2019 (targeting 400–500 total) and won IDC’s DX Talent Accelerator award, demonstrating measurable progress in national AI fluency driven by DataCamp.
