A DataCamp Case Study

How Omdena is training the world
 changers of tomorrow

Omdena, a social enterprise founded in 2019 that connects NGOs with over 3,500 AI engineers across 100+ countries, needed a way to keep its widely distributed, volunteer workforce’ skills up to date. To solve that problem, Omdena partnered with DataCamp to provide online, self‑paced data skills training for its engineers and community members.

DataCamp’s platform delivered measurable results: 180 Omdena learners completed more than 1,500 hours of training (almost 8 hours per learner), strengthening capabilities in Python, programming, machine learning and data manipulation. Those skills have been applied to real‑world projects — improving food security in Senegal, increasing renewable energy adoption across Africa, and designing more energy‑efficient buildings — and Omdena is expanding its rollout of DataCamp as it launches new AI projects weekly.
