A Databricks Case Study
Timeful is a smartphone app that uses machine learning to recommend personalized schedules and help users build better habits. The team depended on analytics to improve product design and monitor recommendations, but their data lived across multiple Postgres databases, making queries slow, cumbersome, and impractical for terabyte-scale analysis.
By adopting Databricks as a centralized, high‑performance data platform, Timeful enabled continuous production monitoring and easy access to terabyte-scale data for non-engineers. This allowed full‑dataset processing (not sampling), faster data-driven product iterations, and freed one FTE in analytics to focus on problem solving rather than routine data wrangling.
