Tilting Point is a games partner that funds and operates live games for developers, providing user acquisition, performance marketing, and operational support. It needed near-real-time game analytics and alerts to drive in-game decisions, plus a GDPR-compliant way to store encrypted PII, while avoiding high latency and cost from frequent S3 listings.

Tilting Point implemented Databricks’ S3‑SQS streaming into Delta Lake, using S3 as a checkpoint between Firehose and structured streaming to avoid custom state management. The architecture lowered operational overhead, provided ACID transactional guarantees for reliable ingestion, and used snapshot isolation so downstream consumers can read tables during streaming and compaction—making high-quality, near-real-time data available for analytics and LiveOps.
