Protecting 182 million wireless customers from harm

AT&T needed to protect its 182 million wireless customers from fraud and abuse while dealing with a legacy on-premises data architecture that limited innovation and customer experience. Working with Databricks and its Data Intelligence Platform, AT&T set out to modernize data and AI capabilities to stop threats like robocalls, robotexts, illegal unlocks, and identity theft in real time.

Databricks helped AT&T build a unified lakehouse architecture for data and AI, enabling more than 100 machine learning models in production and real-time alerts and recommendations across the business. As a result, AT&T has reduced fraud by up to 80% and is expanding data-driven use cases for service reliability, coverage quality, dispatch, and sales growth.
