Lennox International, a global provider of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration products, needed to use machine learning on large-scale IoT data to predict product issues. Their dataset scale prevented processing at required speed, forcing them to sample just 15–20 devices; teams worked in silos and data scientists spent roughly 80% of their time on data preparation and feature engineering instead of modeling.

Databricks on Microsoft Azure gave Lennox a unified analytics platform that simplified data engineering, enabled team collaboration, and automated cluster management so engineers no longer had to tune Spark. The platform integrates H2O, TensorFlow/Keras and Power BI, starts clusters in about four minutes (even 30+ node clusters), and let the team integrate ML tools in a few clicks—freeing data scientists to build more accurate models and scale analysis beyond small samples.
