Leading the AI journey for audit, tax and advisory services

KPMG, one of the world’s leading accounting firms, needed to modernize its data estate because its legacy Hadoop infrastructure was slowing innovation, increasing costs, and making it harder to meet growing speed-to-market demands. To support audit, tax, and advisory services, KPMG turned to Databricks and the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform to power data transformation, analytics, and model development.

With Databricks, KPMG implemented Unity Catalog, Delta Sharing, Databricks SQL, MLflow, and serverless compute to unify data sources, strengthen governance, and scale BI and ML workloads. The results included faster time to market, increased productivity, and improved scale and performance. KPMG now manages more than 500TB under Unity Catalog, has over 850 active users, and supports thousands of users with Power BI dashboards built on the lakehouse.
