A Databricks Case Study
HP, the global leader in personal computing and printing technology, needed a faster, more accessible way for teams across analytics, product management, and digital commerce to get insights from massive volumes of device, service, and application data. Traditional BI and manual SQL workflows were too slow and labor-intensive, making it hard to answer urgent business questions, support self-serve analytics, and keep up with fast-moving inventory, marketing, and forecasting needs.
With Databricks, HP adopted AI/BI Genie, Databricks Assistant, Mosaic AI, and Unity Catalog to enable natural-language analytics, self-service access, and governed data sharing across the enterprise. The result has been faster decision-making and less dependence on engineers and analysts, with users getting accurate answers in seconds instead of waiting for dashboards or custom queries; HP also noted it had abandoned a costly custom text-to-SQL solution in favor of Databricks.
